Michael's Tips & Stories
Cool pieces, at piping hot prices this Winter!
Not too many people know about the pipeline involved in research, design, buying materials, prototyping, manufacturing, quality control, and shipping furniture from the ends of the earth. You’re looking at a year minimum.
That means you have to be on top of things well in advance. The good news here is that we did our purchasing for our winter range going on 12 months ago, when the Oz dollar was peaking, and you know that no one buys better on your behalf, so you will be stunned by the value on some of the coolest winter pieces we have ever produced. Rich, unusual velvet fabrics, chrome, animal patterns – original in-vogue pieces that have a sensational wow factor. Great for winter, but also suitable for when the weather warms.
You also know that whatever savings we make are passed on to you. Of course economic times have changed, so now is the time to use our ‘lead up time’ to your advantage. A stroll through any of our stores will have you amazed by the pieces and their price tags. It’s also our big sale time, so make the journey now!
Fair winds,
Michael Edwards
Proud To Be Queensland Owned
Far Pavilions managing director and owner Michael Edwards first started collecting and restoring Art Deco and period furniture as a hobby.
Michael had travelled extensively with his work and also for pleasure. Upon his return to Brisbane, he recognised the need for interesting and affordable furniture and homewares.
As a result, the first Far Pavilions showroom opened in Paddington in 1995. There are now 10 showrooms around Queensland, which employ more than 80 local staff, keeping profits and jobs in Michael's home state.
Dedicated to offering Queenslanders exquisite furniture and homewards from all over the world tailored to suit Queenslander lifestyle at an affordable price, Michael organises shipping directly to his southeast Queensland warehouse, cutting the overheads and passing those savings onto customers.
Michael said his continued success is thanks to his innovation. "I found innvovation is about creating and sustaining a competitive edge that will keep your business as a leader, both today and into the future," Michael said. "Ultimately, it's about injecting change into your business, across your people, how you do things, what you offer your customers and how you can leverage the value you have created in your business."
Far Pavilions is proud to be a Queensland company and has many customers from interstate who buy and have products delivered. The company plans to expand its business to other states, but will remain Queensland owned and operated.
