1) I've only just found your website, how long have you been in business?


Far Pavilions' first store was founded in the Brisbane suburb of Paddington in 1995, by global-adventurer Michael Edwards, with the aim of offering Australian shoppers access to the quality exotic furnishings he discovered on his journeys around the world.

Now with eight showrooms operating throughout South-East Queensland, and a ninth in Townsville, we are proud to drive the world's very best bargains on your behalf, and to provide you with a complete and highly affordable range of home furnishings and accessories from around the world, including  a broad range of designs that are specially created and manufactured exclusively for the Far Pavilions stores.

2) Where do all these exotic furniture pieces come from?


We get our products from all across the globe! From India to Italy, China, Kazakhstan and the Phillipines... basically anywhere that produces quality, unique furniture pieces and accessories.

Michael Edwards, our founder and CEO spends around three months out of every year travelling the world sourcing new and exciting furnishings and homewares items to bring back to Australia to share. To read more about his recent journeys, click here.


3) What are your products made from and how are they made?


Wherever possible we source products that have been made using sustainable materials to manufacture our furniture. For example, we only use plantation or recycled timber, where every log is government certified and tagged and we employ a no certification, no purchase policy.

We also support Fair Trade practices in our business dealings with all of our suppliers and manufacturers, both locally here in Australia and overseas.



4) Where can I find your showrooms?


You can find Far Pavilions showrooms throughout South East Queensland and now, in Far North Queensland in Townsville.

5) What if I don't live near one of your stores... Do you deliver to my area?


We are able to deliver just about any of our items to just about anywhere in Australia, however deliveries outside of the Standard Delivery Area will need to be priced on a individual basis. Just let us know what area you live in, and what you'd like to have delivered and we will happily provide a quote for you.

The current Standard Delivery Area covers the majority of South East Queensland, from the Tweed in the South to Noosa in the North and out to Toowoomba in the West.


6) I know what I want to buy, but how much will delivery cost?

Delivery fees do vary based on location and size of shipment, starting at  $77.00 for Brisbane Metro and $88.00 for Gold and Sunshine Coasts per shipment.

Our current standard delivery areas run from the Tweed in the South to Noosa in the North and out to Ipswich in the West. 

For deliveries outside of these areas an additional fee may apply. Please contact us to arrange a quote for you.


7) How long do I have to wait for my goods to be delivered once an order is placed?


If your selected goods are in stock at our Brisbane Distribution Centre we generally allow three business days for order processing and transport coordination within the South East Queensland region.
Of course, if your goods aren’t currently in stock our friendly retail staff will be able to provide you with a indication of when the expected delivery date might be.

We are pleased to assure you that over 80% of orders are delivered with 30 days, and 95% of orders within 45 days of purchase.


8) What if the item I want isn’t available right now, how much of a deposit do I need to pay to make sure I will get one when the next shipment comes in?


Our standard minimum deposit on orders is 50% of the full purchase price, with the remaining amount payable prior to actual delivery.

That means, if the item you want won’t be available until a later date, you can pay your deposit to reserve one from the next shipment, and we will call you to let you know when it comes in, so you can make your final payment and arrange a delivery time that suits you.


9) What can I buy straight from the store?


All of our home accessories items, such as lamps, cushions, artwork and other knick knacks, are able to be taken from our showrooms immediately, so if you’re looking to take a piece of Far Pavilions home with you straight away, make sure you check them out!

Larger furniture pieces, such as sofas, dining tables, chairs, beds and bookshelves can't be taken home straight away, as we don't store any stock at our showrooms. Instead, when you decide what you want we will arrange a time for your items to be delivered to your home or office directly from our Brisbane Distribution Centre.


10) You have the sofa I want on display in your XYZ store, so why can't I take it home with me today?


Generally speaking, the larger furniture items you see in the Far Pavilions showrooms are display stock only. 

When you come into our showrooms you can see, touch, and test out our furniture, to help you decide what you want, and then place an order to have your chosen items delivered to your home directly from our Brisbane Distribution Centre.

The majority of orders are delivered within days of your initial purchase, but if you just can’t wait you can also arrange a time with our staff to collect it from our Brisbane Distribution Centre yourself.

We use this system because it ultimately helps keep prices low for you. 

By cutting out the unneccesary costs associated with having stock transported to and stored at each of our individual showrooms, we can pass the savings on to you, our customers!



11) I saw a bookcase I really liked in your store last year but it doesn’t seem to be in your store anymore—how do I go about ordering one?


Unfortunately all of our product lines are available on a limited number availability— so once it’s gone, it’s gone!

To ensure that we are always able to provide you with the best possible prices and the latest style trends, we do not hold stock for extended periods of time—in fact, when it comes to especially popular items, we sometimes only have them in stock for a few weeks!

Stock in our stores does tend to move pretty quickly, so if you see something you like now, it’s best to snap it up now before somebody else does.


12) I really like the XYZ sofa, but I want it with a different type of fabric, can you do a special order for me?


Although we’d love to be able to help you out, it’s simply not cost-effective for us to commission one-off variations or customised designs.

Some of our product lines do offer a choice of colour (e.g. chocolate or cream) or size (e.g. two-seater or three-seater), but apart from this we don't do special design orders. On the upside though, this is another reason we are able to keep our prices so low for you!


13) Help! I really love the XYZ Bedroom Suite but I don’t have the money to buy it outright at the moment. Do you have any finance packages or lay-by options available?


Because we don’t hold stock in our showrooms or warehouses for long, we don’t offer lay-by arrangements on any of our products.

However, we do offer Certigy finance packages, on a buy-today with no deposit basis, with no interest ever, on a 12 or 24 month plan. Just ask one of our friendly retail staff for more details!
